About Día de Los Niños
Día, is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages and cultures. Día is also known as El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day). Día can be celebrated year-round, since sharing good books with children should take place every day, but on April 30, libraries, community partners, and families have extra special celebrations to mark the Día year.
NOLS has a wide range of books for all ages available in Spanish. In addition, patrons may request books in other languages from libraries around the country through the interlibrary loan service.
All Día events are generously supported by Friends of the Library groups in Port Angeles and Forks. For more information about this and other programs for youth, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
