Northern Territory PHN are pleased to invite General Practitioners to attend the “Guess what – I’m pregnant” – The Antenatal First Visit.

GPs, hospital specialists and midwives will talk through the important aspects of the care for a newly pregnant womn. In this 3 hour session talks, case studies and the NT HealthPathways guidelines will be used to equip GPs with the skills and tools they need to confidently and competently care for a woman in the first part of her pregnancy.

This session will ensure GPs feel better equipped to manage this consultation including undertaking the following elements

1) Planning and structuring the first few visits

2) Pregnancy and antenatal care options discussions relevant to Darwin

3) Pregnancy risk assessment and appropriate planning

4) Health promotion discussions

5) Bleeding in early pregnancy – the Early Pregnancy Clinic

6) Screening test
