WHAT IS IT?
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® are founded on an ancient Maya technique of ABDOMINAL MASSAGE. This technique is performed externally by gently guiding and supporting organs back into their optimal position, allowing for improved functioning for optimal health and wellness. Arvigo® Therapy is best known for addressing misalignment or congestion in the reproductive organs of both men and women, as well as many common digestive disorders. The techniques effectively alleviate tissue congestion and organ constriction to improve the vital flows of energy, blood, lymph and nerves in the abdomen. They address and can release emotional and energetic tension from the abdomen. This assists to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology while improving the body’s ability to SELF REPAIR AND BALANCE. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® support and enhance health and wellness throughout the life cycle for women, men, and children.

Jennifer Waters, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac knew that she would eventually study Traditional Chinese Medicine while living in Mainland China where frequently locals asked her if she were Chinese? Funny question to a blonde American who regularly made up Chinese words. She later studied at the Oriental Medical Institute of Hawaii Honolulu, HI, a perfect excuse to move to Hawaii. Jennifer’s study of health began in 1986 when she found out through the Macrobiotic community that chewing your food 100 times per bite does not necessarily bring you closer to God. She loved the diet and philosophy however, and has been a fan of excellent nutrition since then. She has been fortunate to study under highly qualified teachers such as Shinge Roshi Sherry Chayat who invited her to babysit her son, stay in Syracuse for awhile and practice Zen Buddhism. That was 1990. Consequently, she had the good fortune to become a student of the Venerable Kyabje Domo Geshe Rinpoche in the Gelugpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhsim. Knowing that she needed to learn as much as she could in order to authentically benefit herself and others, she started an interview column,”Talking with Masters” for Acupuncture Today. She was able to travel to meet and interview experts within their field, all related to TCM. This is how she met her primary acupuncture teacher, Zion Yu. In honor of his teachings, she and the talented Tori DeAngelis authored his compelling memoir, “Welcome The Pain”, published by Balboa Press in 2013. Additional modalities she has adopted include Maya Abdominal Therapy and Light. In 2005, she became a Certified Arvigo Maya Abdominal Therapist under the tutelage of Rosita Arvigo, who represents this Shamanic influenced lineage from Belize. In 2010, when she met Tinka Smith and Wesley Burwell, renown experts in the field of Light. For years, Jennifer traveled with Wes teaching classes to Acupuncturists and other practitioners. She has seen hundreds, if not thousands, of people recover their full health and emotional well-being through these timeless practices of healing and self-care modalities.
When you take a class with Jennifer, you will benefit from the many decades of her studies which have included some of the best teachers available to us today.
