RESILIENCY with Lisa Lisson

Working her way up the ranks at FedEx Express Canada, Lisa Lisson started out in an entry level position in marketing in 1992, to become the first female Canadian President in 2010.Those eighteen years were not without challenges, particularly on the personal front, when her high school sweetheart and husband had a heart attack in 2007 at 38. For two years, praying for a miracle, she insisted on him being kept him alive. Meanwhile she was raising their four kids, aged 9, 7, 5 and 3 by herself and making sure her career not only survived, but flourished. But there were no miracles, and in 2009 he passed away.Lisa knows first hand about resiliency. She will be sharing her thoughts on how she found resilience and the life lessons she learned in order to inspire others to find fulfillment with their work and at home, achieve their goals no matter what life throws at us to live each day with purpose and gratitude.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL with Paulette Senior

She faced her own set of barriers when she immigrated to Canada from Jamaica as a young girl – an experience that ignited her interest in justice and activism.Paulette began her career on the front lines of social service organizations in some of Toronto’s most economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Through her work and advocacy with shelters, as well as employment and housing programs, she has earned numerous awards and become one of the most respected women leaders in Canada.Paulette joined the Canadian Women’s Foundation in 2016, after 10 years as CEO of YWCA Canada.
