Marilyn Stern author of Cornerstones of Carolina-The Henry Family
Join us to meet and greet Marilyn Stern, author of Cornerstones of Carolina-The Henry Family. This historical novel portrays how the American Revolution and the War of 1812 disrupted not only coastal trade but also families. The lack of divorce or bigamy laws resulted in complicated law suits which were not resolved for decades. The story is told through the eyes of Amelia Henry, a midwife, whose only child Jacob Henry championed religious freedom with an historic speech in the North Carolina House of Commons in 1808.
Dr. Stern has authored a play based on her novel which will make its debut at the historic theater in Oriental NC in the fall. The same theater where Robert Roskind’s Memoirs of an Ex- Hippy was launched.
