Oklahoma is the sixth hungriest state in the nation, where one in four children has inconsistent access to healthy food.
KWTV - NEWS 9 and the OKC Zoo are partnering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to fight childhood hunger in Oklahoma. OKC Zoo guests who bring at least one non-perishable food item from the list below will receive half off admission (a $5.50 value for adults; $4 value for kids and seniors) from Friday, April 6 through Sunday, April 8. Each ticket requires at least one non-perishable food item for discount.
Food donations will be accepted at the Zoo’s ticket windows. No other discounts or promotions may be combined with this offer. Regular Zoo hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., apply.
· Most needed items include: canned meats, meat-based soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, peanut butter and granola bars.
