Some 50+ writers, poets, scholars, and industry professionals read from and discuss their works, literacy, and reading throughout the day in buildings and tents scattered across Old Alabama Town’s historic grounds. Authors include Ace Atkins, Wayne Flynt, Linda Howard, P.F. Kluge, Eric L. Motley, and Michelle Richmond. Books will be available for sale and authors will have scheduled times for signings.

The Alabama Book Festival is once again offering a diverse set of FREE Writing Workshops on everything from poetry to podcasting and audio books to writing about the arts. See the Alabama Book Festival webpage for a complete list, full description, and the on-line sign up form.

Children will enjoy an activity area that features educational games, arts and crafts, and appearances by costumed literary characters such as the Cat in the Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Skippyjon Jones, Froggy, and Corduroy Bear.

A number of exhibitors will be at the event to promote their books and literary organizations. Vendors will also be on hand to sell books and other items of interest to booklovers of all ages. Food vendors will be on site as well!

This event is free and open to the public. Come join the fun!
