BLEW - Men, moustaches, beards and barnets.
OBS: ART is teaming up with local barbers, Barbiere. Together we want to create a range of artworks that explore, celebrate and investigate men’s hair; facial or otherwise.
We are inviting the public to come and capture, through drawing, painting and collaging, portraits that feature men’s moustaches, beards and barnets.
The worked produced will be exhibited at Barbiere.
GETTING INVOLVED IS EASY
First OBS: Art will hold two days of life drawing at Old Bakery Studios. This is open to anyone, newbies, hobbies, students, professionals at any level and any age, any genre or style.
Barbiere will be supplying a range of male models for us to draw.
However if you would like to sit as a model on either date below then please get in touch as you’d be very welcome to come and sit for as long as you like.
We can also use some fake facial hair, props, photography and beyond, to help us create dynamic works.
Work does not have to be completed in the session. Work can be continued on, refined, explored and played with outside of the sessions dates.
Your piece will need to be completed and ready to be hung at Barbiere by Monday 11th June 2018. You must have attended one of the OBS: Art sessions to submit work.
Because Barbiere is a busy barbers, all work included has to be framed to avoid exposed pins, nails etc.
Hurrah! Truro Framing based at Old Bakery Studios is offering 10% off for anyone involved in submitting work for this project.
Everyone is welcome to come and attend a private view of the work at Barbiere on Friday 15th June 2018. Bring your beer and wear a beard.
The work will be hung until Monday 3rd of September 2018. A great summer run and showcase.
