The Schoolhouse Songwriter Series is BACK for its spring 2018 edition!
In a special twist, our host, Metuchen-based singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman, presents two of her favorite husband/wife songwriting duos — OPEN BOOK and Schoolhouse alumni FRICTION FARM — for this intimate, cafe-style, candlelit evening of music.
Sponsored by the Metuchen Arts Council and held at the beautiful, historic Old Franklin Schoolhouse, this popular quarterly show is not to be missed! $10 at the door, $5 kids under 12. Refreshments included, bring-your-own-snacks-and-drinks encouraged!
Hudson Valley, NY-based Rick and Michele Gedney, known as the duo Open Book, have been writing, recording, and performing together since 2000. Their original music features melody invention and vocal harmonies backed by a tapestry of interweaving guitars.
Modern-folk music duo Friction Farm is a husband and wife team of traveling troubadours, with a home base in South Carolina. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems, each song is filled with harmony and hope. www.frictionfarm.com
