Illinois’ Longest Running Earth Day Celebration!
The City of Springfield is hosting its 26th Annual Earth Awareness Fair Saturday, April 21 on the grounds of the Old State Capitol.
This FREE, family-friendly, energetic, and fun event will take place from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., rain or shine, and feature 40+ Exhibitors with information on environmental topics such as recycling, reuse, energy efficiency, alternative energy, climate, native plants and habitats, local and organic foods, and water conservation.
The afternoon will also include Live Music, Games, a Magic Show, Crafts, Petting Zoo, Contests, special Workshop presentations, a Bicycle Rodeo for kids ages 5-12 from the Springfield Bicycle Club, and our local Lions Club will be collecting eye glasses and hearing aids. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase and there will also be a Beer & Wine garden highlighting local sustainable practices.
For individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing, translators will be at scheduled workshops and other activities.
