Are you a calm and organized individual who has always wanted to stage manage but are not sure how to start? Or maybe you've stage managed but would like a better grounding in the basics? Then this workshop is for you! Some of the best stage managers in the area will take you through pre-show, auditions, rehearsal, and the run, as well as useful tips and tricks.
We've teamed up with Olympia Family Theater, South Puget Sound Community College, and the The Evergreen Playhouse (Centralia) to provide a few workshop "graduates" with real experience, either shadowing a stage manager or as an ASM. How cool is that?
Kate Arvin (touring dynamo)
Olivia Burlingame (Open Road Productions, also lighting designer about town)
Chad Carpenter (all around arts maven and currently stage managing Urinetown at St. Martin's)
Melissa Harris (returning to Oly after a few years with amazing experience in TV, formerly of Harlequin, currently of OFT)
Deane Shellman (so much stage managing...also some directing)
This workshop is FREE and suited for people ages 16 and up. Space is limited to 25 people. To sign up, click "going" AND PM me, Deane Shellman.
This event is set to "Public" so please feel free to share.
