This workshop with Catherine Weiss offers basic pronunciation to yoga teachers and yogis who want to be better informed and better-spoken in class. This workshop will cover the basics of the Sanskrit alphabet, including the International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration (IAST). Take this workshop if you wonder what the difference is between "chakra" and "cakra"? Or why we pronounce "yoga" yo-guh, and yet we pronounce "asana" AH-suh-nuh instead of a-sauna?
You will leave this workshop better prepared to navigate the differences between translations of the Yoga Sutras and other yogic texts and more comfortable speaking the Sanskrit names of poses and concepts.

No Sanskrit or language experience necessary. Come with an open mind, your copy of the Sutras if you have one, and your questions!
