We will meet on Thursday April 5th at 2525 W. Pikes Peak at 5:30 p.m. for meditation and dharma talk. This week we will begin discussing the first step on the Noble Eight-Fold Path -- Right or Wise View. Robert Bogoda says, “Wise Understanding, the first step of the Path, is seeing life as it really is: the objective understanding of the nature of things as they truly are without delusions or distortions.” This is how we develop wisdom: knowing how things work, knowing ourselves and knowing others. Wrong View happens when we impose our expectations onto things; expectations about how we want things to be, or about how we’re afraid things might be. Wise View happens when we see things simply as they are. We abandon hope and fear and take joy in a simple straight-forward approach to life. Wise View is an open and accommodating attitude.
We are no longer having a sangha "sit" on Monday. Instead, Monday is reserved for one-on-one or small group meetings to further individual personal study. If you are interested, please contact me to schedule a 4:00 or 5:30 meeting.
I hope to see you Thursday...
