Head over to Washington and 19th where The Studio at OpenBox Athletics is offering a special session of a yin yoga class the evening of Broad Street Run at 6:45pm.
Studio Balance is the yin balance to your more vigorous, or yang, workouts. Perfect for runners and athletes looking to increase flexibility with long holds of forward folds, twists, simple backbends, and resting postures. Breathing techniques will be a focus and poses will target the connective tissue and fascia in our bodies to aid in speedy recovery. You'll get hands-on massage throughout class, especially during an extra long savasana at the end.
Emily has been teaching yoga for 7 years and specializes in yin, restorative, and yoga for athletes. She has run an ultramarathon and competes in obstacle course and trail races.
