About Optiver

Over thirty years ago, Optiver started business as a single trader on the floor of Amsterdam’s European Options Exchange. Today, we are a leading electronic market maker driven by technology. We build high-performance, low-latency trading systems and algorithms that are constantly evolving. Our infrastructure of globally distributed systems generates petabytes of data every day. To be able to compete in this industry everything – from the hardware to the software – has to be perfect.
Our engineers are passionate about breaking down complex problems into simple solutions. Our pragmatic approach results in clean, lean and mean systems. We are constantly looking for talent to help us improve. Do you have what it takes?

Program of the day

Are you keen to know more about our Trading Technology, and what it takes to become a developer at Optiver? During this In-house day we start with an introduction about Optiver to give you some context about what we do, followed by a tour on the trading floor to get a glimpse of the action.

Afterwards we will have an interactive session where we will dive deeper into what our competitive edge is and how technology is playing a role here. We will tell you more about our tech principles and success factors and what we are looking for in a developer/engineer.
Then it is time to put this theory intro practice! In teams you will work on a programming assignment that reflects one of our actual business issues and gives you great insight in what we are actually working on on a day-to-day basis. After this it is time for some well-deserved pizza and drinks where you have the chance to speak to our Developers, System Engineers and Recruiters to find more about graduate positions, internships and the recruitment process.
