#var:page_name# cover

Come meet the team responsible for designing OMSI's newest experience Under the Arctic: Digging Into Permafrost. The exhibit transports visitors to the Arctic using the sights and smells of the nation's only permafrost research tunnel.

A collaborative effort between OMSI and the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), this exhibit addresses the subject of climate change as viewed through the lens of a thawing arctic.

Dr. Matthew Sturm is a professor at the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska, the leader of the Snow-Ice-Permafrost Group, and has led over 30 expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Dr. Sturm and his team will be here to talk about the exhibit, permafrost, and our changing climate. Don't miss this chance to ask an expert!
