This is the first event of a series about poetry and translation organized in partnership with international literary magazine Grafias. We talk about the work of Frank Bidart, American academic and poet, three time Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry. Damiano Abeni has been translating American poetry into Italian since 1973. In Italy, he has published volumes of poetry by Bidart, Bishop, Ferlinghetti, Ginsberg, Simic, Strand, C.K. Williams, and many others. With Mark Strand, he edited West of Your Cities, a bilingual anthology of contemporary American poets. His translations appear in numerous Italian journals and he is among the editors of the journal Nuovi Argomenti.
Matteo Trevisani was born in San Benedetto del Tronto, in 1986. He works as editor in the "Nuovi Argomenti" magazine and in the publishing house Edizioni Tlon. He wrote reportages and short stories for magazines and websites including "Internazionale", "L'unità", "Ultimo Uomo", "Colla" and "Rivista studio". His main interest are philosophy, ancient history, history of religions, astronomy, poetry. Libro dei fulmini, published by Edizioni di Atlantide in 2017, is his first novel.
