P.V. O'Donnell Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann traditional Irish music session on Thursday, April 19
All-Ireland button accordion and melodeon champion Damien Connolly will join the P.V. O’Donnell Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Irish music session on Thursday, April 19 at St. Gabriel’s Parish Hall, 26 Broadway, Milford. The free session starts at 7:45 pm. BYOB. Musicians, dancers, singers and guests are welcomed.
Damien, who won his two All-Ireland titles at the age of 17, also plays the fiddle. He draws on a famous musical family heritage and his original Irish roots in County Clare to create award-winning Celtic music. In 2003 he moved to the U.S. and now resides in Fairfield, CT with his family. In addition to personal appearances and teaching at the Catskills Irish Arts Weekend each year, Damien’s second CD, Inspired, includes both traditional and his own original tunes played on button accordion and fiddle. Dan Neely of The Irish Echo wrote a glowing review of Inspired stating it “...is an exceptional album from one of Irish music's bright lights.”
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was founded in 1951 in Ireland to promote Irish traditional music, song, dance and language. Today there are 415 branches worldwide and over two million people attend Comhaltas functions each year.
