"When I teach Self-Defence Workshops I teach what works, explain why it works, and as I teach the techniques to the students they learn how it works.
I have been training for over 12 years, I have trained consistently in the Academy and have competed at the largest tournaments in the world. I have also worked security for a couple years as a female bouncer. This has provided me with not only the knowledge but also the hands on experience of putting into practice what works and why in the form of self-defence.
My knowledge has saved my life more than once, and my goal is for every participant to leave the workshop with more than they came in the door with. As I always say, it is better to have the tools and not need them, than to need them and not have them. This is my passion, and life has led me on a path to do this work.
I teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a form of self-defence, using technique and leverage against size and strength. I take being a female instructor very seriously, and do everything I need to do to keep myself sharp, strong, and informed. Because Jiu-Jitsu is very dynamic and is constantly improving and changing as each day goes by it is very important to me that I keep up with it. I do this by competing at the largest tournaments in the world.
Our team asks for participation by donation! All proceeds are donated to our team as we represent Canada at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships June 1, 2018.
