During the May term, Panola College will offer two courses which feature a week-long field trip to prominent Texas museums. The courses are Texas History (taught by Prof. Bill Offer) and Texas Government (taught by Prof. Brian Naples). These 3-week courses will feature two weeks of online work and a week of travel. They are full-credit courses that fulfill the core requirements for History and Government. The total cost of these courses is tuition plus $400 in travel expenses. The classes will begin on May 14th and run three weeks. The first and third week of both classes will consist of online work. The second week (May 21st – 26th ) will feature a week of travel to state museums.
The field trip will include stops at the Texas State Prison Museum, George H.W. Bush Library, Bob Bullock Museum, Texas State Capitol, National Museum of the Pacific War, The Pioneer Museum
The Dr. Pepper Museum, The Texas Rangers Museum, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and George W. Bush Library.
