Throughout Indiana, nature centers are hosting Nature Play Days in partnership with the Indiana Children and Nature Network. All of the listed activities are free with park admission and designed to get families and children playing and exploring outdoors.
10:00-3:00 Self-guided Trail Activities - Borrow a free activity pack from the front desk. Each activity packet is filled with inspiration to explore nature as a family. Choose from Treemendous Trees or Outdoor Exploration.
10:00-3:00 Indoor Activities - Visit the Dry Lab to use some natural loose parts for unstructured play.
10:30-11:30 Pond Scooping - Grab a net and see who is living in the pond!
12:00-1:00 Mud Play - We will provide containers of mud and some supplies. You can squish, sculpt, and play, or use the mud as paint to make masterpieces on the sidewalk.
1:30-2:30 Fort Building - This is your chance for off trail exploration and creative cooperative play. Please meet at the Earth Discovery Center to go to the designated fort building area.
2:30-3:30 Creek Stomp - During the creek stomp, you will be walking through shallow water. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for this program and you may want to bring a towel or change of clothes depending on how much playing you plan to do.
