Armando Iannucci's The Death of Stalin is a political satirical comedy based on the French graphic novel La mort de Staline. It depicts the final days of dictator Joseph Stalin in 1953 and the Soviet power struggles following his death.
Starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Palin, Simon Russell Beale and Paddy Considine, the 2017 film was widely acclaimed by critics, if not totally historically accurate. As Empire Online wrote, "Iannucci’s brand of political satire is applied to one of the darkest chapters in modern history, with sensational results. The Lives Of Others with laughs, it’s farcical, frightening and a timely reminder that things could always be worse."
We are proud to be returning to screen the film at Volcano Coffee Works (Parkhall Workspace Business Centre) after they have previously hosted us for full capacity screenings of Paterson and Get Out in 2017.
Please note: This is a non-ticketed event, so entry will be on a 'first come, first served' basis.
