Due to the tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations funding for our public schools has been dramatically cut. Per-student funding for classroom materials is less than half of what it was before the 2008 recession. North Carolina's educators are not only being paid below the national average but when adjusted for inflation are making 12% less now than in 1999-2000.
Join us at our Public Education Town Hall Wednesday, April 11 from 6pm-7:30pm at the Parkland High School Media Center (1600 Brewer Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127).
Sponsored by the North Carolina Association of Educators and Progress NC, this 90-minute event will provide a look at these and other important issues impacting public education in North Carolina.
