Speakers: David & Katherine Liddle (Missionaries with the Wycliffe Bible Translators, Germany)
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others” (Phil 2:3-4, CSB)
“Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honor” (Rom 12:10, CSB)
Our presentation isn't a lesson on the above topic, but rather a theme that we see in our work. We don't live and work for our own success or honor, but consider ourselves successful and honored when our lives and work lead to the success and honor of our brothers and sisters in Wycliffe. Indeed, their success progresses onward and outward until that point (and beyond), when the men, women, and children who have not yet heard and understood the Gospel do so for the first time. When news reaches us of such instances, we are profoundly moved. Our successes are a credit to each and every individual and congregation involved in sending and sustaining us. May the Lord honor you all for having the patience to wait the longest to hear how effective your efforts are!
We hope that our presentation will stimulate thought and questions. We would like very much for those present to feel free and ready to speak up and share what's on their minds.
