Healing Through Music: Performance and Workshop

Shannon Murray is a folk/punk musician and storyteller from the northwoods of Minnesota. She has been making folk a threat again since 2001, tackling guitar playing and songcraft like it’s a contact sport with music that is intensely political and deeply personal. She is shocking and delighting audiences everywhere with her quirky stories, passionate songs, and contagious energy. In addition to her solo work, Shannon performs in the Bemidji based post-punk band Cheerless, and is a founding member of the Broadwing Booking Collective. She can also be found performing her “People’s Music” series, working to preserve working class history in story and song at schools, libraries, and community centers across the country.
