They say man’s best friend is his faithful four-legged pal, but who is a writer’s best friend?

We'll let you in on a little secret - it's your editor.

Join us for a chance to pick a real live editor's brains and learn from the writing and editing journey of Imelda Cribbin.

Imelda turned to creative writing as a hobby in 2008 before combining those interests with her career by undertaking an Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing. Together with more than 25 years of experience in business administration, documentation analysis and management she freelances as an editor and documentation specialist and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Imelda presents a holistic and practical approach when working with clients, whether they be first-time authors or established businesses. In all instances, understanding a client’s goal and helping them achieve their best work and representation of themselves is what counts. As a writer, she understands editing from a writer’s perspective and endeavours to provide assistance and considered suggestions in a professional, yet nurturing way.

She comes with a desk full of credentials:-

• Assoc Degree PWE, RMIT
• Dip Mgmt, University of Ballarat
• Dip Bus Admin, University of Ballarat
• Cert IV TAE, Box Hill Institute
• Cert III Small Bus Mgmt, University of Ballarat.

And she's a member of:-
• Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) – Professional Member
• Editors Victoria - Member
• Australian Society of Authors – Full Member
• Writers Victoria – Member

You can fine Imelda here http://iped-editors.org/ (Find an Editor)

but better still come to Bistro Elba (formerly Cakes and Ale) to hear her for yourself.

Dinner and drinks at your own expense. Imelda will speak during dinner and there's plenty of opportunities to mingle and schmooze with other writerly types too.
