Three individuals who have positively impacted thousands of Pennridge students during their combined 83 years of service to the District have been named winners of the 2018 “Friend of Education Award by the Pennridge Community Education Foundation.
High School Assistant Principal Nick Schoonover, middle school teacher Glenn Wunder and elementary school custodian Daryl Lowry will be honored at PCEF’s 8th Annual “A Lovely Evening” on Tuesday, April 24 at The Sellersville Theater. The foundation will also recognize 2017 award-winner Rebe Williams, who was not able to attend last year’s celebration.
This year’s winners were selected from among a strong field of nominations, according to PCEF President Ron Smith.
“PCEF is honored to recognize the dedication exhibited by our three award winners, “ said Smith. “Celebrating the tremendous work done by those who educate and guide our students every day is the least we can do.”
In addition to the award presentations, the event will also feature performances by the PHS String Ensemble, the Jazz Band, the Chamber Choir, the Penn18 A Capella group, and selections from the STARS presentation of “The Addams Family.”
Tickets to "A Lovely Evening" are $20 each and include a complimentary dessert reception. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are available on the PCEF website, pennridgefoundation.org; by phone at 267.772.0740; or by mail with check or money order at P.O. Box 397, Perkasie, PA 18944.
