SomaYoga blends Thomas Hanna’s somatic muscle re-education with classic asana and therapeutic yoga (with a focus on functional movement and freedom of expression).
The idea is that when we are more fully present in our body, freedom arises in mind, body, and spirit. (In ancient Greece the unity of the three was referred to as a soma.) It is gentle movement , but it requires constant attention and reinforcement. This practice allows you to take accountability for your own health. It empowers you to be in charge of the quality of your life so that you can enjoy all the joy that life has to offer.
Bring your mat and one firm blanket as well as a towel ( for your head when we practice on the side) dress comfortable.
