PTFEC, in conjunction with Randlab, will be holding a gastric scoping day in Cowra on Thursday, 5th April 2018.
Your horse’s stomach is visualised with a gastroscope, a specialised 3m long camera, allowing diagnosis gastric ulceration.
Up to 90% of race horses and 60% of pleasure horses suffer from equine gastric ulcer syndrome resulting in:
- poor appetite
- weight loss
- behavioural changes (i.e. wind sucking, crib biting, irritability when saddling)
- mild colic signs
- poor performance
- or NO outward signs in up to 50% of horses

Cost: The gastroscoping is FREE saving you over $300! A small fee ($50) will be charged to cover the cost of sedation required to perform the gastroscope.
