Making a stop on his farewell WHETHERMAN tour, Nicholas Williams will be back down the road again under a new project name. What’s to say…. Seems to some at times we are perceived as too eager in praise of the wonderful artists who visit our small town. Well… this stop is another one, a truly special one. As one wrote, “mix him with the easy-listening likes of Ray Lamontagne, crossed with all the poetic feels of Bob Dylan’s early recordings” and with the spirit of Guthrie and one gets music “celebrating the sounds and songs of multiple walks of life and backgrounds across the land of the United States.” Spot on. This artist is what we often call “the real deal”.
“What do you get when you cross a traveling troubadour with a seasoned, bucolic folk artist? Enter Whetherman, the moniker of 32 year-old independent singer-songwriter Nicholas Williams who has artfully bridged the gap between American-made sounds spanning folk, blues, country, soul, and bluegrass with a timeless tinge. In the last decade, Williams has produced eight full length albums, including the highly anticipated 'This Land' releasing June of 2017, earning his keep amongst international independent artists. His music aims at the heart center, with earnest and poetic lyrics that accompany infectiously melodic vocals, alongside effervescent percussive guitar and rolling harmonica, creating a rustic sound that is all his own.”
“Absolutely beautiful. A delight to the ears.” (BBC Radio)
