Pet Valu in York 1919 Springwood Road, Queensgate Towne Center, York, is hosting HOPE on Saturday, April 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Meet volunteers, learn about the program and adoptable dogs, purchase our new HOPE t-shirts and hoodies, and enjoy free doggie biscuits for your furry friend.
The Hounds of Prison Education (HOPE) program is a program of the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance (CPAA) that pairs rescued dogs with carefully screened inmates at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill for training, socialization, and love. With the assistance of professional trainers and their inmate handlers, these dogs are given a “paw up” on finding their happily ever after. Once paroled to their adoptive homes, all HOPE graduates receive free training assistance for life—what could be better than that? More information on HOPE can be found at www.hopedogs.org.
