Brief Overview

The prep class is 5 days it’s going to be on that Monday through Wednesday

On the 1st day that Monday we will cover everything that will be on signalman exam.

The 2nd day that Tuesday we cover everything that will be on the rigging written exam.

The 3rd day that Wednesday we cover everything that will be on the rigging practical exam.

On the 4th day that Thursday you will take your written exams and your signalman hands on practical exam.

On the 5th day that Friday you will take your rigging hands on practical exam.

LCS’s NCCCO Rigger Level I Preparatory Training program is specifically designed to prepare candidates who currently work in rigging operations for the successful completion of NCCCO Written and Practical Examinations and certification by NCCCO. This three-day program includes LCS’s Study Guide for Signal Person and Rigging as well as our Rigging Handbook and 2 practice test with answers, as well as interactive classroom and hands-on exercises that emphasize all parts of the NCCCO Rigger Level I Written and Practical Examinations.

NCCCO defines a Rigger Level I as a rigger that can successfully demonstrate or have the knowledge of how to inspect rigging before use, identify and attach rigging with basic knowledge of hitch configurations, recognize associated hazards, signal operations, and use various types of rigging equipment and basic hitches and their applications.

Laguna Crane Service guarantees that all personnel attending this program will successfully pass the written examinations; in the event a student fails any of the written exams, they may attend another Laguna Crane Service NCCCO Rigger Level I class without additional charges from Laguna Crane Service you will need to pay the NCCCO fees to retake the test as we cannot waive these.

LCS’s NCCCO Signalperson Preparatory Training program is specifically designed to prepare candidates who currently work in lifting operations for the successful completion of NCCCO Written and Practical Examinations and certification by NCCCO as a Signalperson. This one-day program includes LCS’s Study Guide and Practice Test with Answers, as well as interactive classroom and hands-on exercises that emphasize all parts of the NCCCO Signalperson Written and Practical Examinations.

OSHA 29CFR 1926 Subpart CC states that a Signalperson needs to know and understand the type of signals used at the worksite; is competent in using these signals; understands the operations and limitations of the equipment, including the crane dynamics involved in swinging, raising, lowering and stopping loads and in boom deflection from hoisting loads, knows and understands the relevant signalperson qualification requirements specified in subpart CC 1926.1419, 1422 and 1428; and passes an oral or written test and a practical test. NCCCO’s program fulfills all of these requirements.

The Practical Exam consisting of two types of Scenarios
Match Scenario where the crane performs certain functions and the candidate gives the corresponding hand or voice signal that matches the function
Candidate Initiated Scenario where the candidate gives the necessary hand or voice signal to initiate and direct crane movement
