Barbara Pearl is both a mathematician and an internationally recognized origami artist. Deeply influenced by the mathematics of origami and the minimalist arts of calligraphy and brush painting. Barbara embraces a meditative spirit of the art as it empowers a mindful experience. Featured in Creative Classroom and for Comcast TV, Pearl has been invited to present to the Ministry of Education in Japan and China and is active in teacher training and staff development. Barbara has received the John F. Kennedy Honor, “Artist as Educator,” 3x National Library Week Award, and Excellence in Academic Achievement and Leadership Award. Her origami exhibits have been on display at the Peace Center in Bucks County, PA, the Franklin Institute Science Museum, Lockheed Martin, numerous libraries and schools, and the Philadelphia International Airport.
