"Is my child's school safe?" - It's a question still on the mind of many parents in the wake of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Fla.
As parents question what can be done, what should be done and what is already being done to keep schools safe, Berkeley County School District is working to provide answers.
BCSD continues to host community conversations during which safety/security is expected to be the primary topic. The informal community gatherings are designed to give parents an opportunity to speak with district administrators and provide invaluable feedback. It’s also an opportunity for parents to learn more about plans already in place and the school district’s vision.
The next conversation is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, April 9 at Philip Simmons High School. It’s expected to last until about 7:30. This meeting is specifically for the communties of Cainhoy, Huger, Wando and Daniel Island. District Two school board member Mac McQuillin will be in attendance. MORE INFO: https://goo.gl/7QfP5f
