WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This workshop is about learning the art of “floating” from the forward bend and into low-plank (Chaturanga) and from downward facing dog into a forward bend and possibly into a hand-stand from a pike. For those who wish to elevate their practice from hoping forward and backward, this workshop will serve as a platform for breaking past the barriers one may have with regards to this powerful transition.
WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THIS WORKSHOP?
This will be a great opportunity to learn the mechanical aspects and anatomical aspects of preparing for “floating” transitions between downward facing dog into a forward bend and from forward bend into low plank pose with confidence. We will go over the nuances of low plank and work to engage proper muscle groups to avoid using the shoulders. This will be perfect for those who have suffered shoulder injuries who wish to better understand the anatomical positioning of high plank and low plank poses and modify these postures accordingly.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN DURING THIS WORKSHOP:
* The body mechanics of low plank and pike/hand-stand
* Practice body alignment in while in “flight”
* How to modify and adapt transitions comfortably
* How to engage the right muscle groups
* How to maintain consistency with “floating” transitions
If you are a registered 200 Hour Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, this workshop is offered as Continuing Education Units. Please inform the instructor that you are an RYT, so that she may be able to upload your information to the YA system for credit.

Colette is longtime teacher and practitioner of yoga, originally from Los Angeles, but has been teaching across the Northeast Coast and Southeast Coast, such as Stamford, Connecticut, New York City, Atlanta, and St. Pete, Florida.
