This workshop is an eye-opening MULTI_MEDIUM CONCEPTUAL challenge with Karim El Hayawan & Adam Abdel Ghaffar where participants expand their artistic mind beyond its existing capacity in order to explore new mediums they never knew they could work with. YES, we believe that artists are multi-disciplinary by nature, unleash more! This is the exact purpose of this workshop!
Both exceptional mentors will make participants re-discover & unleash new dimensions of their talents. Then going forward, split into teams and work with one of the two instructors on a ONE PROJECT through building a concept from scratch using the diverse talents in each group.
This workshop is intriguing, competitive, highly engaging and educational that is highly recommended to all artists: photographers, filmmakers, digital artists, painters, multi-disciplinary artists, writers.
OFF-POINT 01: (Friday 27 April from 5-9PM)

BUILDING THE TEAMS:
Adam and Karim will randomly build their teams (Team Adam vs Team Karim), and give them a research assignment in the following mediums;
OFF-POINT 02: (Saturday 28 April from 10AM- 6PM)
BUILDING THE PROJECT with Karim & Adam:
-An individual 7 to 10 minutes oral presentation.
-Each attendee will showcase his/her research findings.
-Followed with a 3 to 5 minutes discussion after each.
-Announcing the Workshop:
Creative Thinking + Assignment.
-Working together with your team & mentor on a new medium (for each) throughout the day.
-Assign a project (to work during the off week)
OFF-POINT 03: (5 May from 12-6PM)
-Presentation of the outcome of the workshop.
-TA (Team Adam) vs TK (Team Karim)

About Karim Hayawan:
Karim El Hayawan, born and raised in Cairo, is a street photographer and interior architect. After learning the technical fundamentals from a longtime Reuter’s hand, Alaa Abdel Naby, Karim found his passion in street photography Cairo wanderings are his prime visual interest and vocabulary, exploring the city's busy multi-layered cultural skin… from its recognized gems to its abandoned architectural marvels, recording people who represent the genuine essence of what the city has to offer.
Karim’s photos were exhibited at “The Grid Cape Town Biennial in South Africa”, “Off Biennale Cairo – Something Else” - The Benchmark forum in GUST Kuwait, Al-Ahram’s Salon for Fine Arts and Darb1718 in Cairo as well as CNN’s connect the world and various local and international publications.
Karim is also the Co-Founder and principle interior architect of Design Point Studio based in Cairo. Specialized in high-end residential, retail and resort projects. With a range of 40 projects to date, including 7 hotels in the Resort area of Sharm El Sheikh – Red See, permanent team of professionals consisting of 15 architects and designers and collaborating with teams all over the world.
Adam Abd El Ghaffar:
Adam is a former Creative Director in the field of advertising for 7 years, and the founder of Studio Adam for Visual Arts & Design.
Abd El Ghaffar’s art projects has been exhibited in Cairo, London, Beirut and Tunis. He started a career for Writing/Scriptwriting in 2012, publishing his first short stories collection “Plateau.”
Abd El Ghaffar directed few TV-Commercials, and producing his first short film "Fork and Knife" after winning 1st prize in Gouna Film Festival. Abd El Ghaffar was trained with the famous director Marwan Hamed in his upcoming film Torab el Maas (Diamond Dust) to be released in 2018.
