Sacramento’s own master pianists Sakurako Kanemitsu and Ina Jun combine their talents in a recital featuring Shubert’s “Fantasy in F Minor” for piano four-hands and Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz from Sleeping Beauty” arranged for four-hands by Rachmaninov.
The performance is on Sunday, April 8th at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Pioneer Congregational Church at 2700 L Street, across from Sutter’s Fort, in midtown Sacramento. ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Ms. Kanemitsu performs both solo and chamber music and is an avid performer of new music, having premiered many compositions. Her recording of composer Ryan Suleiman’s piano-cycle “Under Moonlight" was featured on KDVS radio. She is a performance artist for the Sacramento State Opera Theater and collaborated with Jacob Montoya on music for “Human Beggar’s Opera”, “Resilience”, “Signs of Life”, and “Heartstrings”. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and holds a Master of Music degree from California State University at Sacramento.
Ms. Jun is a member of the Hartt Philharmonia and has worked with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera. Her chamber trio received honors at the Watson Chamber Music Competition. With her piano and violin duo, she participated in the 2012 Beethoven Institute in New York City. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree at the Hartt School and holds a Master of Music degree from California State University at Sacramento.
