“Extending Your Vegetable Garden Season” will be discussed when the Pocono Garden Club meets on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Monroe County Conservation District, located at 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville, Pa.
Guest speaker Tom McIntyre likely can be found in his vegetable garden when he’s not working as a cameraman with Blue Ridge Communication (TV13). Succession planting, crop rotation, and natural ways to do targeted amendment of vegetable garden soil are among topics he will cover to help you make the most of the relatively short vegetable gardening season in the Poconos.
Everyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend.
Participation is encouraged in the April design exhibit appropriately titled “Singing in the Rain.” This designer’s choice arrangement should use fresh materials to interpret the title. Accessory permitted.
The Horticulture entry would be a hellebore or flowering bulb in a clear container. The Houseplant entry would be any houseplant with foliage.
Please bring in your entries 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.
