In this one day workshop you will create a stunning fabric sculpture using Powertex.
Throughout the day you will be taken through each step needed to make a gorgeous statuette with a bronze base colour. First you will build a foundation structure for your statuette. Then, using Powertex fabric hardener and a variety of fabrics, you will drape, fold, scrunch and twist the fabric to 'dress' your statuette.
You will have the option to add wings if you would like to create an angel or a fairy.
Once dry, you will bring your statuette and the fabric texture to life using coloured pigments and a dry brushing technique.
All materials will be provided - just bring your imagination. Finished statuettes will be approximately 40-50cm tall.
There will be a 30 - 40 minute break for lunch, you can either bring your own lunch or there are a number of shops and cafes nearby.

Powertex is designed as a fabric hardener and a stain and can, therefore, be difficult to get out of clothing. You will be provided with gloves and an apron but it would also be advisable to wear clothing you don't mind getting a bit messy.
