The Polk County Housing Trust Fund and its partners at the Refugee Alliance of Central Iowa invite you to the fourth year of their Landlord Forum event. This year's event will be focused on offering landlords and property managers new strategies to communicate across cultural and language barriers. We've heard from local property managers that communication is one of their greatest challenges when working with our community's growing population of immigrants and refugees, and this event will offer context and solutions to help.
Presentations will include:
-A panel of local refugees and immigrants to share their housing experiences
-Tips on providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed service to tenants
-Introduction to resources, tools, and organizations that can help you communicate more effectively across language barriers
The event is free and continental breakfast will be provided, thanks to our sponsors DART, Opportunity Central Iowa, and United Way of Central Iowa. Registration begins at 8 and the program will begin at 8:30. We hope to see you there!
NOTE: Conference Room 1/1A is located in the glass atrium on the right side of the River Place building. Enter the building through the doors by the DART stop or on the right side of the atrium.
