I am hosting an IV drug use harm reduction and overdose management class at poor boys aimed primarily at service industry workers. The point of this class is to help educate people in our industry on how to handle urgent medical situations while at work, or out in the community.
You will be trained on how to administer Narcan if someone has overdosed, as well as educate peers on how to better manage health risks associated with IV drug use. We will also discuss how and where to get clean supplies and Narcan to keep on hand for emergencies, as well as learning about legal ramifications of responding to an overdose.
This class will consist of a lecture, then hands-on training. It will last approximately two hours.
I am asking a $10 donation to help pay for the trainer's time and supplies used. If you aren't able to pay, please contact me personally at 256-426-7122, or message me on FB, and we can make arrangements. I do not want anyone who would like to attend to miss the class because of money.
