Let your little ones explore and learn about Native Americans traditions and culture during our Native Voices Day featuring the temporary Native Voices: New England Tribal Families exhibit. Enjoy a full day of special activities including special performances and demonstrations from representatives of Maryland Native American tribes. Plus, join in activities designed to teach visitors about Native American culture and traditions. Create pinch pots using clay such as traditionally used for pottery, try your hand at making birch bark containers (makuks) used for storing sugar collected as maple sap, try your hand at uncovering cultural materials from the past in our “Dig It!” activity, and learn about the unique way of representing ideas without words or letters with pictographs!
