Join Refuge Staff and the Friends of Port Louisa NWR on Saturday, May 12th for a Spring Bird Festival at the Refuge Headquarters! We will be celebrating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and 100 years of protecting birds.

7 am - 11 am: Songbird Banding - Refuge staff and trained volunteers will band birds. This is a great opportunity to see birds up close and learn about banding.

7:30 am: Early Bird Walk - All are welcome to join David Griffin on a hike along the nature trail in the forest and along Muscatine Slough to look for birds.

9:00 am: Kids and Family Friendly Bird Walk - Bring the family and join Bobbi Provost and Fawn Bowden to explore the nature trail for birds.
