This month, we're continuing our Intermediate Lesson Series on musical styles of Blues and the dances that go with them. Each week will cover a different style of music or regional form of Blues and the dances and movements that make sense to that type of Blues.
Latin Grooves: Blues music has incorporated Latin rhythms in a variety of different ways over the years. In this class, we'll look at a few that you may be less familiar with, such as jungle beat, boogaloo, and swamp groove. We'll talk about how to distinguish each of them and pick out the rhythm you're hearing and what might change about your dancing depending on the groove of the song.
