The Hard Way Half, planned and organised by our Club Captain Mike ‘the Beastmaster’ Tizard, will test your mental and physical resolve as you pit yourself against some of the toughest terrain Portland has to offer….. springy grass, rocky footpaths, pebble beach, hard core paths and steep hills (there are some lovely sea views though!) The route takes you from the top of the island to the bottom and back up again. Along the way you will pass the prison, Historic High Angle Batteries, the Verne, Portland Marina, run along Chesil Beach before climbing Lankridge, where you will have fantastic views over Weymouth Bay and be able to look down to where you were just running! A quick breather and water stop and continue along Westcliff to Portland Bill and back up the East side of the Island where you will tackle the infamous Goat path! Whether an experienced runner or a first timer this is a great challenge and you will be rightly proud of your achievement as you cross the line.
