There may come a time in life when you or a loved one may need to make difficult decisions about your health care. You can make these future decisions easier on your loved ones by having conversations about your wishes and completing the proper legal documents.

In honor of March being National Social Worker month, the Social Workers at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System present this event as an opportunity to learn about your options, ask questions, and complete your Living Will and Power of Attorney. Please bring a picture ID card.

What is an advanced directive?
- An advanced directive protects your healthcare wishes. It allows your wishes to be respected if you become unable to make decisions for yourself. It outlines the medical treatment you would want or names a representative of your choice to make the decision for you. There are two choices: a Power of Attorney for Health Care or a Living Will.
