Ghee Make & Take
Saturday, April 7
10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
If you were able to join us for her Fire Cider making class, you know LuAnn had lots of delicious samples to share. Join us if you can!
Saturday, April 7th LuAnn will be teaching and sharing the health benefits of ghee and showing us how to make our own.
Why all the hype about ghee?
What is it anyway?
Why is it a valuable addition to both your home apothecary and your pantry?
Ghee is similar to clarified butter, but simmered longer to bring out the butter’s inherent nutty flavor. It’s also left with a higher smoke point than butter, meaning that it can be heated to a higher temperature before it starts to smoke. But beyond being a wonderful spread for bread and an excellent oil for cooking, it possesses many health benefits. Herbally, ghee is considered a catalytic agent, able to drive the healing properties of herbs deeper into the body and enhance their effectiveness and healing potency.
Participants will leave with recipes, ideas for herbal add-ins, and 4 ounces of finished ghee, made together during the class.
Here's a fun note from her: "And of course, a few tasty culinary options, also. My grandboys love their caramels - simply equal parts of honey and ghee frozen in the freezer. Delicious and good for you" :)
