PSJH-E Community Garden Information/Sign Up Meeting and
Master Gardener Program: "Three-Season Gardening"
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, PSJH Board Room
Special Guest and Master Gardener, University of Illinois Extension, Sue Styer will be on hand to discuss the secrets to getting the most out of the gardening season. Much of the success of our gardens depends on when and how our plants are planted.
If you are a "green thumb" healthcare professional or just someone who thought you were interested in taking up gardening ... your opportunity has arrived! Our community garden is open to community members. We have 9 raised bed gardens currently available for new gardeners or those who wish to expand their existing gardens.
A few details about our garden:
• The garden consists of 40 raised beds located in the open field east of the St. Clair Building on the Northeast part of our campus and can be easily accessed off of Lin Lor Lane.
• Gardeners pay a nominal annual fee of $20 per garden bed, which covers the cost of water and grounds maintenance.
• Each raised bed garden is 4’ by 8’ in size - A great size for a family!
• During the growing season, gardeners will have the opportunity to donate their excess produce to our local food pantry, Food for Greater Elgin.
Contact Angela Allanson at 847-622-2074 or email@example.com to RSVP to attend or for more information about the gardens.
