Learn how to brew a 1-gallon batch of a SAISON-STYLE beer from a medley of fresh, whole grains on a scale that’s easy for anyone with a kitchen stovetop.
This workshop begins with a brief DISCUSSION of the history and chemistry of beer brewing. Then, we quickly get HANDS-ON for the remainder of the class as we move through the steps of mashing, sparging, boiling, cooling, and pitching the yeast. Then, we provide an already fermented version of our Saison to taste, bottle and TAKE HOME. As we move through the the brewing stages, we will taste SAMPLES of a few different saisons from various breweries.
Led by Gilbert Guerrero, Owner of TEMESCAL HOMEBREWING. He leads a variety of workshops on brewing around the Bay Area and sells DIY homebrewing kits available at our shop.
