the great potato famine is the stuff of history, BUT did you know that there's more to creamy potato-leek soup (and its American-provenance)? Whether you like it 'Irish' - traditionally warmed and accompanied by shell fish, or chilled and Frenchly-branded 'vichyssoise' - the flavors (like their American cousins: chocolate n peanut butter) go together.
For the Irish Session, I think I'll be dishing up a bowl of potato leek, a string of spicy seared shrimp on a spit and a nugg of soda bread. I may even instigate a little something fire desert ...
